A study by Klobas, et. al in the Swedish Dental Journal has shown a direct correlation to TMJ (jaw) dysfunction in patients who have suffered whiplash following a car accident. These injuries lead to decreased jaw range-of-motion and moderate to significant pain in the joints. Gentle chiropractic mobilizations along with massage and acupuncture can work wonders to eliminate the problems associated with TMJ injuries. Be sure to mention any jaw or chewing problems to your doctor following an accident or any type of trauma to your head or neck.
