It’s the most wonderful time of the year for parents…Christmas? Nope. Back-to-school time! As parents around the world celebrate, please keep your children’s safety at the forefront of your mind. Please make sure your children use both shoulder straps when wearing their backpack and don’t allow it to be too heavy. Backpacks should not weigh more than 10% of the child’s body weight. Be sure to have your child remove any unnecessary items that may be unnecessary weight. This will prevent the backpack from being too heavy which can cause injury to the back and poor posture. For additional safety tips and ergonomic consultations, call to schedule an appointment with Dr. Hartwig at Marcum Chiropractic. 503-235-7130
