Now that the weather has finally acted like Spring many people are spending significant time gardening and doing yard work. While these are excellent healthy activities, be sure to take care in how you do them! A very common way in which people hurt their back this time of year is by pulling weeds. It is much safer to dig or cut the weed using the proper tool than to pull it. Pulling it places significant strain on your back and when the weed “lets go,” you are very susceptible to straining or spraining muscles and ligaments in your back and/or neck. If you do injure yourself, please be sure to seek treatment as soon as possible. Call 503-235-7130 to schedule with the practitioners at Marcum Chiropractic; they’ll get you feeling better fast!
